Project Description:
We find this project to be very relevant of our experience because of the ever changing scope of work integrated into the project. We also find this project very relevant of our experience because it contains elements of work that will most likely be required under this contract. Some of the main elements of work were: earthwork – mass cut & fill, asphalt paving, curbs, landscaping, concrete – foundations with tall basement walls, sidewalks and paving, masonry – CMU, brick veneer, stone accents, steel – post and beams, masonry lintels, carpentry – rough framing, finish carpentry & millwork, custom casework, moisture Protection – asphalt shingles, flashings, soffits, doors & Windows – hollow metal doors & frames, wood doors & frames, aluminum door systems, clad windows, finishes – gypsum drywall, insulation, acoustical ceilings, painting, wall coverings, specialties – toilet partitions and accessories, signage, flagpole, equipment – banking and security equipment, special construction – emergency generator system, mechanical – zoned HVAC system, plumbing, and electrical – wiring & devices, light fixtures. DAVID self performed the concrete (partial), masonry, rough framing (partial), finish carpentry & millwork, doors, frames & hardware, clad windows, and specialty items. While this project did not begin as an overly complex project, it ended up as a complex project because of the numerous Owner scope changes. DAVID’s dynamic and flexible change management systems facilitated the implementation of the numerous scope changes as seamlessly and efficiently as possible. DAVID also dealt with a severe winter just as the project came out of the ground. These unique qualities demonstrate DAVID’s innate ability to be flexible and effective in dealing with the adversity that so many construction projects seem to have.
