Project Description:
Complete Demolition and Replacement of Facility

The project consisted of replacing an existing dilapidated 50,000sf elementary school with a new 75,000sf state of the art elementary school on the same piece of property. The new school contained the latest technology systems. The new school was built within the footprint of the existing school and it was completed in two phases in order to keep the school open for the students. The first phase was to demolish a portion of the school which housed the administrative offices and construct a new wing which contained classrooms and administrative offices of the new school building along with a temporary cafeteria. The second phase was to demolish the remaining existing school which housed the classrooms, kitchen, cafeteria and gymnasium and construct the new permanent kitchen, cafeteria, and gymnasium.

DAVID succeeded in completing the construction of the two phases through close coordination with the Owner to minimize any impact to the school operations. All target dates for the completion and move in of students into the various portions of the school were met.
